Premier Homes

As the weather gets colder, heaters go on and fireplaces are lit. Save on energy with these tips!

As the weather gets colder, heaters go on and fireplaces are lit. However, keeping your house warm can get expensive. This season, save on energy in Premier homes by following these tips.

-Set your thermostat no higher than 68 degrees when home. Lower this temperature when in bed or when you are not home. For every degree that you lower your thermostat, you save about two percent on your heating bill.

-Weatherize your home by caulking and weather-stripping all doors and windows. In addition, use locks on windows to make them tighter and draft resistant. Continue reading

Ch-Ch-Changes in Olympia Homes at Sterling Crossing!

Olympia homes at Sterling Crossing are singing to the tune of the David Bowie hit “Changes”! We are excited to announce that from now on, all Sterling Crossing homes will be built with fiber cement siding. It will join the ranks of our other communities that are already being built with this same material such as Horizon Pointe, The Cottages at Element, Bohemian Estates, Copperfield, Navarro, Highlands at Somerset Hill, Northlake and Poplar Farms.

Olympia Homes

Before, Sterling Crossing only offered vinyl siding.

Fiber cement siding has been growing in popularity over the years, and it is something we feel buyers will enjoy. The beauty of this siding is that it looks like natural wood, but it does not require the maintenance of traditional wood siding. It is constructed from a mixture of cement, cellulose fiber and sand. After being rolled out and pressed with a wood grain finish it is baked to form a strong and durable home siding product. Many fiber cement manufacturers offer warranties of 20+ years against product failure or manufacturing defects. Continue reading

Seattle Real Estate Sells Fast

Premier Communities is thankful to be selling homes near Seattle. Why? In a report about the cities where homes sell the fastest, Seattle real estate ranked second! Others on the list were San Francisco, Boston and Alexandria, Va.

“Although the U.S. housing market continues to struggle, many local markets are doing significantly better than the country as a whole, with some places virtually missing the housing bust altogether,” states a CNBC article, “While shifts in home values are important in any market, it’s important for sellers to determine the length of time a property can expect to be on the market before it will be sold.”

Homes that sell fast attract perspective buyers and allow sellers to accept favorable offers. Seattle’s median time to sell between April and July, 2011 was 73 days. Since the national median was 117 days, and even 168 days in New York, that’s fast!

If you want to invest in great Seattle real estate, visit our Premier homes in the Tacoma, Olympia and Everett areas.
